New Tech High School At B F Darrell High School's three out of seven distinctions are in Mathematics, with 25% student progress and 25% closing performance gaps.
Based on Racial/Ethnic Groups, African Americans comprise the biggest group at James Madison High School. They make up for 60.58% of student population, followed by Hispanics (38.46%), Whites or Caucasians (0.48%) and Two or More Races (0.48%). There is no Asians and Native Americansstudents in the school.

Based on household incomes, James Madison High School’s economically disadvantaged students is significantly higher at 95.67% compared to 81.52% at New Tech High School At B F Darrell High School.
In terms of Limited English Proficiency (LEP), a term used in the United States that refers to a person who is not fluent in the English Language, mainly because it is not their native language, James Madison High School has a higher number of English Language Learners comprising 32.21% of its student population compared to 35.05% at New Tech High School At B F Darrell High School.
In addition, James Madison High School has 30.29% bilingual students, 6.73% are in the gifted and talented program, while 8.89% are in the special education program.
