When we compared James Bowie Middle School, which is a part of FORT BEND ISD, with Missouri City Middle School, which is a part of FORT BEND ISD, we noted a big difference in ratings.
James Bowie Middle School’s regular student population is 1,534 with a 17.7 students/teacher ratio. The student population at Missouri City Middle School is 956 students and a 13.3 students/teacher ratio.
James Bowie Middle School performed excellent to earn a State accountability rating of A (90-100) based on three domains: student achievement, school progress and closing the gaps. It is in this area where the two schools differ. James Bowie Middle School's two out of seven distinctions are in with 25% student progress and 25% closing performance gaps. Except for with 25% student progress, Missouri City Middle School earned one out of seven distinctions.

In terms of Limited English Proficiency (LEP), a term used in the United States that refers to a person who is not fluent in the English Language, mainly because it is not their native language, James Bowie Middle School has 137 English Language Learners or ELLS or about 8.93% of student population. Missouri City Middle School has significantly more ELLs at 161 or about 16.84% of student population.
