Choosing the best possible elementary school is critical to a child’s foundational development. In Texas, public school districts adopt curriculum standards set by the State Board of Education. When we compared Hoover Elementary School, which is a part of CYPRESS-FAIRBANKS ISD, with Hairgrove Elementary School, which is a part of CYPRESS-FAIRBANKS ISD, we noted a big difference in ratings.
Hoover Elementary School has a regular student population of 842 with a 13.9 students/teacher ratio while Hairgrove Elementary School has 725 students and a student-teacher ratio of 13.8 students/teacher ratio.

Hairgrove Elementary School's six out of seven distinctions are in Reading/English Language Arts (ELA), Mathematics, Science, post-secondary, with 25% student progress and 25% closing performance gaps. Hoover Elementary School has no distinction.
Based on Racial/Ethnic Groups, Hispanics comprise the biggest group at Hoover Elementary School. They make up for 62.71% of student population, followed by African Americans (23.75%), Whites or Caucasians (6.06%), Asians (3.56%), Two or More Races (3.44%) and Native Americans (0.48%).
At Hairgrove Elementary School, Hispanics make up 81.10% of student population, followed by African Americans (8.55%), Whites or Caucasians (5.93%), Asians (1.93%), Two or More Races (1.79%) and Native Americans (0.69%).
Based on household incomes, the Hoover Elementary School’s economically disadvantaged students is slightly lower at 84.44% compared to 87.59% at Hairgrove Elementary School.
In terms of Limited English Proficiency (LEP), a term used in the United States that refers to a person who is not fluent in the English Language, mainly because it is not their native language, Hoover Elementary School has 323 English Language Learners or ELLS or about 38.36% of student population. Hairgrove Elementary School has significantly more ELLs at 363 or about 50.07% of student population.
In addition, Hoover Elementary School has 38.00% bilingual students, 0.24% are in the gifted and talented program, while 14.49% are in the special education program. This stacks up against Hairgrove Elementary School with 49.66% bilingual students, 1.66% gifted and talented students and 9.79% students in the special education program.
