Highland Park Elementary School's four out of seven distinctions are in Mathematics, Science, post-secondary and 25% closing performance gaps. Herff Elementary School has no distinction.
Based on Racial/Ethnic Groups, the dominant group in Herff Elementary School is Hispanics who make up nearly 91.43% of student population, followed by African Americans (4.64%), Whites or Caucasians (2.86%) and Two or More Races (1.07%). There is no Asians and Native Americansstudents in the school.
At Highland Park Elementary School, Hispanics make up 92.75% of student population, followed by Whites or Caucasians (3.63%), African Americans (2.59%), Two or More Races (0.78%) and Native Americans (0.26%). There is no Asians student in the school.
Based on household incomes, Herff Elementary School’s economically disadvantaged students is slightly higher at 95.71% compared to 89.64% at Highland Park Elementary School.
In terms of Limited English Proficiency (LEP), a term used in the United States that refers to a person who is not fluent in the English Language, mainly because it is not their native language, Herff Elementary School has a significantly higher number of English Language Learners comprising 45.71% of its student population compared to 26.42% at Highland Park Elementary School.
In addition, Herff Elementary School has 50.36% bilingual students, 2.86% are in the gifted and talented program, while 9.64% are in the special education program.
