When we compared Hawkins Elementary School, which is a part of EL PASO ISD, with Rivera Elementary School, which is a part of EL PASO ISD, we noted a slight difference in ratings.

Distinction designations are awarded for achievement in several areas and are based on performance relative to a group of campuses of similar type, size, grade span, and student demographics.
Hawkins Elementary School's three out of seven distinctions are in Science, post-secondary and 25% closing performance gaps. Rivera Elementary School did not earn any distinction.
Based on Racial/Ethnic Groups, the dominant group in Hawkins Elementary School is Hispanics who make up nearly 97.17% of student population, followed by Whites or Caucasians (1.06%), African Americans (0.71%), Asians (0.35%) and Two or More Races (0.35%). There is no Native Americans student in the school.
At Rivera Elementary School, Hispanics make up 85.09% of student population, followed by Whites or Caucasians (9.82%), Native Americans (1.82%), Two or More Races (1.45%), Asians (1.09%) and African Americans (0.73%).
Based on household incomes, Hawkins Elementary School’s economically disadvantaged students is significantly higher at 95.05% compared to 79.27% at Rivera Elementary School.
In terms of Limited English Proficiency (LEP), a term used in the United States that refers to a person who is not fluent in the English Language, mainly because it is not their native language, Hawkins Elementary School has a significantly higher number of English Language Learners comprising 62.54% of its student population compared to 30.91% at Rivera Elementary School.
Hawkins Elementary School’s bilingual students comprise 66.78%, gifted and talented students, 10.60%, while 19.79% are in the special education program. Rivera Elementary School bilingual students comprise 54.55%, gifted and talented students, 5.82%, and 13.45% are in the special education program.
