Distinction designations are awarded for achievement in several areas and are based on performance relative to a group of campuses of similar type, size, grade span, and student demographics.
It is in this area where the two schools differ. Goodson Middle School's four out of seven distinctions are in Mathematics, Science, post-secondary and with 25% student progress. Aragon Middle School’s two out of seven distinctions are in with 25% student progress and 25% closing performance gaps.
Based on Racial/Ethnic Groups, Whites or Caucasians comprise the biggest group at Goodson Middle School. They make up for 37.11% of student population, followed by Hispanics (32.98%), African Americans (15.79%), Asians (10.76%), Two or More Races (2.87%) and Native Americans (0.42%).
The student population at Aragon Middle School is also predominantly by Hispanics at 42.72%, followed by Whites or Caucasians (27.42%), African Americans (16.49%), Asians (10.06%), Two or More Races (2.75%) and Native Americans (0.31%).
Based on household incomes, the Goodson Middle School’s economically disadvantaged students is slightly lower at 38.92% compared to 42.97% at Aragon Middle School.
