Distinction designations are awarded for achievement in several areas and are based on performance relative to a group of campuses of similar type, size, grade span, and student demographics.
Both schools garnered only five distinction designations or awards for outstanding performance. These are in Reading/English Language Arts (ELA), Mathematics, post-secondary, with 25% student progress and 25% closing performance gaps.
Based on Racial/Ethnic Groups, the dominant group in Frazier Elementary School is Hispanics who make up nearly 78.77% of student population, followed by Whites or Caucasians (8.49%), African Americans (8.25%), Asians (2.83%) and Two or More Races (1.42%). There is no Native Americans student in the school.
At Meador Elementary School, Hispanics are the biggest group, comprising 63.25% of student population, followed by African Americans (23.50%), Whites or Caucasians (5.98%), Asians (5.98%), Two or More Races (0.85%) and Native Americans (0.43%).
Based on household incomes, the Frazier Elementary School’s economically disadvantaged students is significantly lower at 74.76% compared to 86.11% at Meador Elementary School.
In terms of Limited English Proficiency (LEP), a term used in the United States that refers to a person who is not fluent in the English Language, mainly because it is not their native language, Frazier Elementary School has 95 English Language Learners or ELLS or about 22.41% of student population. Meador Elementary School has significantly more ELLs at 146 or about 31.20% of student population.
