Choosing the best possible elementary school is critical to a child’s foundational development. In Texas, public school districts adopt curriculum standards set by the State Board of Education. The current standards, called Texas Essential Knowledge and Skills, outline what students should be able to learn and do in each course or grade. When we compared Fox Elementary School, which is a part of KLEIN ISD, with Northampton Elementary School, which is a part of KLEIN ISD, we noted a slight difference in ratings.
Fox Elementary School has a regular student population of 743 with a 16 students/teacher ratio while Northampton Elementary School has 673 students and a student-teacher ratio of 15 students/teacher ratio.
Fox Elementary School performed excellent to earn a State accountability rating of A (90-100) based on three domains: student achievement, school progress and closing the gaps. Distinction designations are awarded for achievement in several areas and are based on performance relative to a group of campuses of similar type, size, grade span, and student demographics.
Fox Elementary School's five out of seven distinctions are in Mathematics, Science, post-secondary, with 25% student progress and 25% closing performance gaps. Northampton Elementary School did not earn any distinction.
Based on Racial/Ethnic Groups, Hispanics comprise the biggest group at Fox Elementary School. They make up for 42.40% of student population, followed by Whites or Caucasians (22.34%), African Americans (21.27%), Asians (7.40%), Two or More Races (6.19%) and Native Americans (0.40%).
The student population at Northampton Elementary School is also predominantly by Hispanics at 46.66%, followed by Whites or Caucasians (40.86%), African Americans (7.88%), Two or More Races (2.08%), Asians (1.93%) and Native Americans (0.45%).
Based on household incomes, Fox Elementary School’s economically disadvantaged students is slightly higher at 52.49% compared to 45.62% at Northampton Elementary School.
In terms of Limited English Proficiency (LEP), a term used in the United States that refers to a person who is not fluent in the English Language, mainly because it is not their native language, Fox Elementary School has a higher number of English Language Learners comprising 25.17% of its student population compared to 27.49% at Northampton Elementary School.
Fox Elementary School’s bilingual students comprise 30.15%, gifted and talented students, 5.65%, while 11.04% are in the special education program. Northampton Elementary School bilingual students comprise 32.24%, gifted and talented students, 5.20%, and 10.55% are in the special education program.

The 44 teachers at Northampton Elementary School have been serving the school for an average of 8.3 years with individual teaching experience averaging 10.7 years.
