When we compared Dessau Middle School, which is a part of PFLUGERVILLE ISD, with Kelly Lane Middle School, which is a part of PFLUGERVILLE ISD, we noted a slight difference in ratings.
Dessau Middle School’s regular student population is 721 with a 12.1 students/teacher ratio. The student population at Kelly Lane Middle School is 1,037 students and a 17 students/teacher ratio.
Dessau Middle School earned a State accountability rating of C (70-79) based on three domains: student achievement, school progress and closing the gaps. Distinction designations are awarded for achievement in several areas and are based on performance relative to a group of campuses of similar type, size, grade span, and student demographics.
Distinction Designations for Dessau Middle School and Kelly Lane Middle School are not applicable as neither one earned a recognition for outstanding achievement in seven categories.
Based on Racial/Ethnic Groups, the dominant group in Dessau Middle School is Hispanics who make up nearly 70.04% of student population, followed by African Americans (14.70%), Asians (6.66%), Whites or Caucasians (5.96%), Two or More Races (2.36%) and Native Americans (0.14%).
The student population at Kelly Lane Middle School is also predominantly by Whites or Caucasians at 39.44%, followed by Hispanics (35.97%), African Americans (11.28%), Asians (8.10%), Two or More Races (4.73%) and Native Americans (0.19%).
Based on household incomes, Dessau Middle School’s economically disadvantaged students is significantly higher at 68.52% compared to 19.96% at Kelly Lane Middle School.
In terms of Limited English Proficiency (LEP), a term used in the United States that refers to a person who is not fluent in the English Language, mainly because it is not their native language, Dessau Middle School has a significantly higher number of English Language Learners comprising 52.57% of its student population compared to 7.52% at Kelly Lane Middle School.
In addition, Dessau Middle School has 52.57% bilingual students, 6.24% are in the gifted and talented program, while 16.78% are in the special education program. This stacks up against Kelly Lane Middle School with 7.33% bilingual students, 10.99% gifted and talented students and 9.26% students in the special education program.

At Kelly Lane Middle School there are 43 female teachers and 18 male teachers. Of its teaching staff, ten special education teachers are being assisted by nine teachers aides or paraprofessionals.
