When we compared Decker Middle School, which is a part of MANOR ISD, with Manor New Technology Middle School, which is a part of MANOR ISD, we noted a huge gap in ratings.
Decker Middle School’s regular student population is 607 with a 12.1 students/teacher ratio. The student population at Manor New Technology Middle School is 714 students and a 16 students/teacher ratio.
Decker Middle School not rated a State accountability rating of Not Rated: SB 1365 (Not Rated per SB 1365) based on three domains: student achievement, school progress and closing the gaps. Scores are scaled from 0 to 100 to align with letter grades. The school scored 55 in student achievement, 66 in school progress and 70 in closing performance gaps. It scored 67 overall in post-secondary readiness, a broad term that refers to student preparedness to undertake multiple pathways after graduation, or specifically, their preparedness for college education.
On the other hand, Manor New Technology Middle School earned a State accountability rating of C. The school posted 69 in student achievement, 72 in school progress, 73 in closing performance gaps and 72 overall in post-secondary readiness.
A distinction designation acknowledges districts and campuses for outstanding achievement based on the outcomes of several performance indicators. Distinction designations are awarded for achievement in several areas and are based on performance relative to a group of campuses of similar type, size, grade span, and student demographics.
Manor New Technology Middle School's one out of seven distinction is in Social Studies. Decker Middle School has no distinction.
Based on Racial/Ethnic Groups, the dominant group in Decker Middle School is Hispanics who make up nearly 68.70% of student population, followed by African Americans (19.77%), Whites or Caucasians (4.94%), Asians (4.94%), Two or More Races (0.99%) and Native Americans (0.49%).
At Manor New Technology Middle School, Hispanics are the biggest group, comprising 62.32% of student population, followed by African Americans (21.43%), Whites or Caucasians (6.86%), Asians (5.18%), Two or More Races (3.50%) and Native Americans (0.14%).
Based on household incomes, Decker Middle School’s economically disadvantaged students is significantly higher at 87.81% compared to 72.13% at Manor New Technology Middle School.
In terms of Limited English Proficiency (LEP), a term used in the United States that refers to a person who is not fluent in the English Language, mainly because it is not their native language, Decker Middle School has a significantly higher number of English Language Learners comprising 55.85% of its student population compared to 43.98% at Manor New Technology Middle School.
In addition, Decker Middle School has 55.68% bilingual students, 9.06% are in the gifted and talented program, while 12.85% are in the special education program. This stacks up against Manor New Technology Middle School with 43.98% bilingual students, 25.63% gifted and talented students and 6.30% students in the special education program.
Decker Middle School's 50 teachers have been working at the campus for an average of 2.7 years with individual teaching experience averaging 6.8 years. Teachers at Manor New Technology Middle School, numbering 44 teachers, have been serving the school for an average of 2.1 years with individual teaching experience averaging 5.8 years.

In both schools, female teachers outnumber the male teachers. At Decker Middle School there are 33 female teachers and 16 male teachers. Of its teaching staff, six special education teachers are being assisted by six teachers aides or paraprofessionals. In addition to its teaching staff, the school has four staff members in the school administration department and three more working as school support staff.
