De Zavala Elementary School's four out of seven distinctions are in Reading/English Language Arts (ELA), post-secondary, with 25% student progress and 25% closing performance gaps. Roderick R Paige Elementary School’s two out of seven distinctions are in Science and with 25% student progress.
Based on Racial/Ethnic Groups, the dominant group in De Zavala Elementary School is Hispanics who make up nearly 98.01% of student population, followed by African Americans (1.32%), Asians (0.44%) and Whites or Caucasians (0.22%). In terms of Limited English Proficiency (LEP), a term used in the United States that refers to a person who is not fluent in the English Language, mainly because it is not their native language, De Zavala Elementary School has a significantly higher number of English Language Learners comprising 48.12% of its student population compared to 33.92% at Roderick R Paige Elementary School.
