Cypress Ranch High School’s regular student population is 3,548 with a student-teacher ratio of 16 students/teacher ratio. The student population at Cypress Ridge High School is 3,037 students and a student-teacher ratio of 12.1 students/teacher ratio.
Cypress Ranch High School performed excellent to earn a State accountability rating of A (90-100) based on three domains: student achievement, school progress and closing the gaps. It is in this area where the two schools differ. Cypress Ranch High School’s five out of seven distinctions are in Reading/English Language Arts (ELA), Mathematics, Social Studies, with 25% student progress and 25% closing performance gaps. Based on Racial/Ethnic Groups, Whites or Caucasians comprise the biggest group at Cypress Ranch High School. They make up for 32.69% of student population, followed by Hispanics (27.40%), Asians (18.80%), African Americans (16.83%), Two or More Races (3.66%) and Native Americans (0.45%).
At Cypress Ridge High School, Hispanics are the biggest group, comprising 60.22% of student population, followed by African Americans (20.38%), Asians (8.56%), Whites or Caucasians (7.61%), Two or More Races (1.98%) and Native Americans (1.02%).
Based on household incomes, the Cypress Ranch High School’s economically disadvantaged students is significantly lower at 28.86% compared to 77.64% at Cypress Ridge High School.
In terms of Limited English Proficiency (LEP), a term used in the United States that refers to a person who is not fluent in the English Language, mainly because it is not their native language, Cypress Ranch High School has 152 English Language Learners or ELLS or about 4.28% of student population. Cypress Ridge High School has significantly more ELLs at 428 or about 14.09% of student population.
Cypress Ranch High School’s bilingual students comprise 4.03%, gifted and talented students, 12.82%, while 6.45% are in the special education program. Cypress Ridge High School bilingual students comprise 13.57%, gifted and talented students, 5.53%, and 10.27% are in the special education program.
