When we compared Coop Elementary School, which is a part of HOUSTON ISD, with School At St George Place, which is a part of HOUSTON ISD, we noted a slight difference in ratings.
Coop Elementary School has a regular student population of 568 with a 17 students/teacher ratio while School At St George Place has 758 students and a student-teacher ratio of 17 students/teacher ratio.
Coop Elementary School earned a State accountability rating of B (80-89) based on three domains: student achievement, school progress and closing the gaps. Scores are scaled from 0 to 100 to align with letter grades. The school scored 58 in student achievement, 89 in school progress and 75 in closing performance gaps. Distinction designations are awarded for achievement in several areas and are based on performance relative to a group of campuses of similar type, size, grade span, and student demographics.
School At St George Place's five out of seven distinctions are in Reading/English Language Arts (ELA), Mathematics, post-secondary, with 25% student progress and 25% closing performance gaps. Coop Elementary School has no distinction.
Based on Racial/Ethnic Groups, the dominant group in Coop Elementary School is Hispanics who make up nearly 89.08% of student population, followed by African Americans (8.98%), Whites or Caucasians (1.58%) and Two or More Races (0.35%). There is no Asians and Native Americansstudents in the school.
The student population at School At St George Place is also predominantly by Hispanics at 37.60%, followed by African Americans (22.16%), Whites or Caucasians (19.53%), Asians (14.64%), Two or More Races (5.41%) and Native Americans (0.40%).
Based on household incomes, Coop Elementary School’s economically disadvantaged students is significantly higher at 97.36% compared to 53.56% at School At St George Place.
In terms of Limited English Proficiency (LEP), a term used in the United States that refers to a person who is not fluent in the English Language, mainly because it is not their native language, Coop Elementary School has a significantly higher number of English Language Learners comprising 50.88% of its student population compared to 29.82% at School At St George Place.
In addition, Coop Elementary School has 63.03% bilingual students, 2.82% are in the gifted and talented program, while 8.80% are in the special education program. This stacks up against School At St George Place with 29.95% bilingual students, 8.71% gifted and talented students and 6.86% students in the special education program.

The 44 teachers at School At St George Place have been serving the school for an average of 6.1 years with individual teaching experience averaging 9 years.
