Distinction designations are awarded for achievement in several areas and are based on performance relative to a group of campuses of similar type, size, grade span, and student demographics.
Distinction Designations for Conroe High School and Caney Creek High School are not applicable as neither one earned a recognition for outstanding achievement in seven categories.
Based on Racial/Ethnic Groups, Hispanics comprise the biggest group at Conroe High School. They make up for 55.21% of student population, followed by Whites or Caucasians (28.40%), African Americans (11.63%), Two or More Races (2.27%), Asians (1.95%) and Native Americans (0.43%).
At Caney Creek High School, Hispanics are the biggest group, comprising 63.96% of student population, followed by Whites or Caucasians (32.24%), African Americans (1.99%), Two or More Races (1.06%), Native Americans (0.57%) and Asians (0.18%).
Based on household incomes, the Conroe High School’s economically disadvantaged students is significantly lower at 57.48% compared to 72.48% at Caney Creek High School.
In terms of Limited English Proficiency (LEP), a term used in the United States that refers to a person who is not fluent in the English Language, mainly because it is not their native language, Conroe High School has a significantly higher number of English Language Learners comprising 20.59% of its student population compared to 21.55% at Caney Creek High School.
In addition, Conroe High School has 19.55% bilingual students, 3.81% are in the gifted and talented program, while 10.67% are in the special education program.
