Berry Miller Junior High School bagged all seven distinction awards in Reading/English Language Arts (ELA), Mathematics, Science, Social Studies, post-secondary, with 25% student progress and 25% closing performance gaps. Pearland J H South’s four out of seven distinctions are in Reading/English Language Arts (ELA), Science, post-secondary and with 25% student progress.
Based on Racial/Ethnic Groups, Whites or Caucasians comprise the biggest group at Berry Miller Junior High School. They make up for 35.04% of student population, followed by Hispanics (23.78%), Asians (19.27%), African Americans (16.65%), Two or More Races (4.63%) and Native Americans (0.63%).
The student population at Pearland J H South is also predominantly by Hispanics at 46.80%, followed by Whites or Caucasians (25.14%), African Americans (19.08%), Asians (5.05%), Two or More Races (3.25%) and Native Americans (0.45%).
Based on household incomes, the Berry Miller Junior High School’s economically disadvantaged students is significantly lower at 22.78% compared to 47.59% at Pearland J H South.
In terms of Limited English Proficiency (LEP), a term used in the United States that refers to a person who is not fluent in the English Language, mainly because it is not their native language, Berry Miller Junior High School has 27 English Language Learners or ELLS or about 3.38% of student population. Pearland J H South has significantly more ELLs at 123 or about 13.80% of student population.
