Based on Racial/Ethnic Groups, the dominant group in B H Macon Elementary School is Hispanics who make up nearly 87.05% of student population, followed by African Americans (10.16%), Whites or Caucasians (2.19%), Native Americans (0.40%) and Two or More Races (0.20%). At W A Blair Elementary School, Hispanics make up 67.08% of student population, followed by African Americans (28.47%), Two or More Races (2.23%), Whites or Caucasians (1.73%) and Native Americans (0.50%). There is no Asians student in the school.
Based on household incomes, the B H Macon Elementary School’s economically disadvantaged students is slightly lower at 92.23% compared to 99.50% at W A Blair Elementary School.
In terms of Limited English Proficiency (LEP), a term used in the United States that refers to a person who is not fluent in the English Language, mainly because it is not their native language, B H Macon Elementary School has a significantly higher number of English Language Learners comprising 66.73% of its student population compared to 52.48% at W A Blair Elementary School.
In addition, B H Macon Elementary School has 62.75% bilingual students, 18.92% are in the gifted and talented program, while 15.14% are in the special education program.
