Choosing the best possible elementary school is critical to a child’s foundational development. In Texas, public school districts adopt curriculum standards set by the State Board of Education. When we compared Anderson Elementary School, which is a part of SPRING ISD, with Milton Cooper Elementary School, which is a part of SPRING ISD, we noted a slight difference in ratings.
Anderson Elementary School has a regular student population of 482 with a 12 students/teacher ratio while Milton Cooper Elementary School has 665 students and a student-teacher ratio of 13.3 students/teacher ratio.

Distinction designations are awarded for achievement in several areas and are based on performance relative to a group of campuses of similar type, size, grade span, and student demographics.
Anderson Elementary School's one out of seven distinction is in with 25% student progress. Milton Cooper Elementary School did not earn any distinction.
Based on Racial/Ethnic Groups, Hispanics comprise the biggest group at Anderson Elementary School. They make up for 56.22% of student population, followed by African Americans (24.27%), Whites or Caucasians (14.94%), Two or More Races (2.90%), Asians (1.04%) and Native Americans (0.41%).

Based on household incomes, the Anderson Elementary School’s economically disadvantaged students is slightly lower at 83.40% compared to 88.57% at Milton Cooper Elementary School.
In terms of Limited English Proficiency (LEP), a term used in the United States that refers to a person who is not fluent in the English Language, mainly because it is not their native language, Anderson Elementary School has 129 English Language Learners or ELLS or about 26.76% of student population. Milton Cooper Elementary School has significantly more ELLs at 304 or about 45.71% of student population.
In addition, Anderson Elementary School has 26.97% bilingual students, 5.19% are in the gifted and talented program, while 11.62% are in the special education program. This stacks up against Milton Cooper Elementary School with 45.26% bilingual students, 5.56% gifted and talented students and 11.73% students in the special education program.
