Friendswood has long been known for being a very safe city with a pro-active police department. Galveston County's Sheriff and Nueces County can thank Friendswood PD for finding two of their most wanted fugitives in separate traffic stops on July 7th. You can run, but you can't hide in Friendswood!

FRIENDSWOOD - Deric Rochard Epps, 32, of League City was stopped for a traffic violation in the 2700 block of Sailors Moon Drive at approximately 5:10 p.m. During the stop, he was found to have outstanding felony warrants out of Galveston County for Evading Arrest and Possession of Marijuana. Epps is being held on $80,000 bond per charge pending transfer to the Galveston County Jail. He is also on parole for a previous drug conviction. Epps was listed in June 2010 as a top ten fugitive by the Galveston County Sheriff's Office.

Antonio Martinez, 27, who stated he was living in League City, was arrested on outstanding Nueces County probation revocation warrants. The warrants stemmed from two previous assault causing bodily injury charges filed by the Corpus Christi Police Department. Martinez was stopped for a traffic violation in the 700 block of W. Parkwood at approximately 5:17 p.m. He was found to have a suspended driver's license and the two outstanding warrants. He told police that he had been hiding in the Houston area for the last 11 months to avoid capture by Nueces County authorities. He is currently being held at the Friendswood City Jail with no bond on the warrants and $1000 on the local Driving While License Invalid charge. He will be transferred to the Galveston County Jail later this afternoon. Martinez was listed on the Nueces County top ten fugitive list in October of 2009.
