2010 GRAMMY Signature School Three Texas Schools Make the List of only 12 Schools Nationwide (April 6, 2010) – For the second year in a row, Katy ISD’s Cinco Ranch High School has been named a GRAMMY Signature School for their commitment to music education by the GRAMMY Foundation. Cinco Ranch High School is the only Houston-area school to make the list, and one of only three Texas high schools listed. In addition to this phenomenal recognition, the school will receive a custom award and a $1,000 grant to benefit its music program. “Our music department is comprised of a group of individuals who have a true passion and dedication to what they teach,” said Bob Bryant, Katy ISD Executive Director of Fine Arts. “This award represents the outstanding programs that our students and staff create each year.” The GRAMMY Foundation notified more than 20,000 public high schools across the country in September 2009 to submit applications for the Signature School awards. From these applications, finalists were selected and asked to submit additional information which was judged by an independent screening committee for the final selection phase. Only 12 schools were selected this year. |
