Light Sells

Posted by Lois Wells

Be sure to illuminate your home. Open all window coverings to let in natural light, unless they offer undesirable outdoor scenery. Turn on every light in the house before departing, including appliance lights and closet lights. Brighten up darker rooms with few windows by placing spotlights on the floor behind furniture. Adjust the temperature slightly warmer or cooler than usual, depending on the season - anything to create a comfort level that will make buyers want to linger. Prominently display photography that showcases the exterior of the home in different seasons - showcasing appealing flower gardens, colorful autumn leaves or a snow-covered lawn - to help complete the picture of year-round living. Let the home speak for itself on the joy of living there.
