Electricity is deregulated in most of the state of Texas. That means you have a choice in where your buy your power, what kind of power you buy, and how much you pay for it. The good news is the switching process just got expedited. If you want to change providers to get a better rate, what used to take 30-45 days can now be accomplished in about seven business days. That means you can save money faster, but pay close attention to your current contract expiration date. If you switch too early, you may face an early termination fee, and nobody likes that.

For a copy of the law that applies, please visit www.puc.state.tx.us .

If you want to explore options for reduced electricity rates (including an environmentally-friendly 'Green & Clean' plan), go to: www.BeBright12.MyStreamEnergy.biz for more info.
