Thursday, October 21st at 6:30pm - Computer Class: Internet Searching

Monday, October 25th at 6:30pm - Early Literacy Workshop: Talkers, 2-3 yrs. These programs teach adults how to help their children learn important skills now so they can become good readers. Each person attending will receive a certificate for 2 clock hours of professional development. Call or visit the Children's Librarian to register.

Wednesday, October 27th - Libraries across the state are participating in Texas Library Snapshot Day by collecting statistics, comments, and photographs from a typical day. Please stop by on October 27 to use our computers, check out books, attend a program, visit with library staff, and tell us what you think. Be a part of our "a day in the life of libraries" and help us show the incredible impact of our libraries.

Wednesday, October 27th at 2:00 pm  - The Cradle in Galveston, Texas: Listen to the stories of how and where The Daughters of The Republic of Texas began. Linda Johnson Cooper, committee chairman of The Cradle, will also discuss DRT projects, membership benefits and the application process

Thursday, October 28th at 6:30 pm - Classic Movie Night with Them starring James Whitmore, Edmund Gwen, and Joan Weldon. Directed by Gordon Douglas in 1954. This black and white film is not rated and is 94 minutes long. "By far the best of the '50s cycle of creature features." ---Geoff Andrew (Time Out).

Wednesday, November 3rd at 7:00pm - Open Mic Poetry Night with special guest poets Oscar Peqa, Donna Pauley, and Rebecca Travis. Come read your own poems or share poems by other authors. Refreshments provided.

Thursday, November 4th at 6:30pm - Computer Class: Microsoft PowerPoint

Tuesday, November 9th at 7pm - Book Club meets to discuss The Piano Teacher by Janice Y.K. Lee. Refreshments are provided.
