Stage to sell - decorate to live

It is amazing what a difference a good staging of a home can make in the way it shows. It is important for a home to show well, so it can sell.  The better it shows, hopefully, the faster it sells.
I recently staged a home for a couple because they were not getting any offers.  The staging went really well and new photos were taken and posted.  When I went back to the home to show it to one of my buyers, I thought I was walking into another house.  The owners and re-arranged the re-arranging I had done.  They apparently did not like the way it was "decorated" so they put it back.  It is still on the market with no offers.
Now, I know that even if they had left the staging the way it was, it could still be on the market.  However, what everyone needs to remember is that staging to sell is not decorating to live.  As Kermit the Frog might say, "One of these things is not like the other."
It is important to let the stager do the staging so the home is presented in its best for showings. Let the new owners decorate.  The sellers need to stage.
