He was Chair of the HAR Governmental Advisory Group for 2016 and 2017, and served as a Region 14 Trustee for the Texas Association of REALTORS® Political Action Committee (TREPAC) from 2016 to 2019. Ray was on the Executive Board of Texas REALTORS® from 2018 to 2019, and was Chair of the Texas REALTORS® YPN Group in 2020. In 2021, Ray served as the Chair of the NAR Business Issues Policy Committee.

In 2012, Ray was recognized by HAR's NRG (now YPN) as one of the 20 Under 40 Rising Stars in real estate.

In 2013, Ray was selected for the highly respected Texas REALTORS® Leadership Program (TRLP) and graduated from the 4-month program, in November, 2013.

Ray has been active in the leadership of the Greater Houston CRS Chapter, serving as the President-elect in 2013, President of the Chapter in 2014, Past-President in 2015, and Financial Chair in 2016. After years of successful affiliation with Rodney Powell of Powell Real Estate, Ray opened his own firm, Legacy Texas Properties, in 2013, where he now serves as Broker/ Owner.
