Mark is from a family of B.O.I. (Born On the Island) Galvestonian's that settled in the San Luis Pass area in the mid-1850's. Raised here in SW Houston Mark flourished both in his scholastic roles but also in athletics where he swam competitively until leaving for College Station and undergraduate studies.There was no problem for an Aggie Geologist to find work here in the hub of the oil-field and Mark enjoyed his duties behind the desk, mapping hydrocarbon bearing strata as well as his responsibilities in the field where he learned the subtle art of directional/horizontal drilling and logging-while-drilling and the equipment that makes this engineering feat possible.Through his work, Mark went on the publish technical articles in several professional organizations including the SPE, IADC, AADE and the annual OTC as well as international petroleum societies in Brazil, Peru, Mexico, Canada, Italy, Abu Dhabi, Dubai and KSA. With the exposure to those cultures outside of the USA, Mark quickly learned their values to better understand how they live, which produced an even greater appreciation for those liberties and life here in the USA! Mark started his career in Real Estate in Boerne, TX in 1989 where he worked for The Guy Chipman Company selling homes in both suburban and farm/ranch settings.
