A proud native Houstonian, I graduated from Alief Hastings High School in 1988 with honors, and then attended the University of Houston, where I earned a BA in history with a minor in corporate communications. During college I worked at Benjamin Franklin Federal in the Real Estate Division and then later with the RTC.

My first full time position was with First American Title in 1992, where I worked for 13 years. Starting in the marketing department, I setup large venue realtor training seminars and developed their first desktop publishing department. I then worked as the executive assistant to the Division President for several years before being promoted to Facilities Manager and becoming Assistant Vice President. I opened and relocated office operations of all sizes in Houston and throughout Texas – hiring and working with general contractors, architects, designers and furniture.

In 2005, First American Title decided to out-source facilities management, so I set up my company – Construction & Design, Inc – to meet their needs and I continue to service them as a client today. I started out primarily building out commercial new construction raw spaces, which led to commercial remodels and over the years progressed into residential projects as well. I built my first home for an artist in the Heights in 2007 and I completed a $1.7 million condo remodel project at the Woodway Place Atrium Condominiums in 2008. I love the diversity of the projects and making customer’s dreams become reality!

My satisfied customers kept asking me to help them buy or sell properties, so I obtained my real estate license in 2013 in order to provide a full range of services. I am now have my brokers license and have started my own brokerage company called Sticks & Bricks Realty. I look forward to working with you!

I have been representing buyers and sellers for over 17 years in Houston and surrounding areas. I have helped many friends and families through out my real estate career acquire their first and second home. I have also been involved with many investors in commercial real estate which has giving me the experience and opportunity to work in various projects. Dorothy Newcomb grew up in a real estate family so she comes by her career talent naturally. Her parents were brokers and owned their own real estate investment company where she began to gain experience. Later, working for a home builder mortgage company, Dorothy learned the financial side of buying property which has been invaluable to her clients. Needless to say, real estate is in her blood.

She also has a keen understanding of the challenges when relocating – giving extra consideration to the needs of each client. Drawing from her own experience in multiple moves, Dorothy prioritizes what is most important by considering the unique situations of each individual or family.

One of eleven siblings, Dorothy has a well developed skill for communicating with others in a way that puts them at ease. Outgoing, compassionate and friendly, she is eager to meet new people and truly enjoys getting to know her clients. Whether they be native Houstonians, from other parts of the country or the world, she knows that the better she knows her clients, the better she can meet their real estate needs.

Dedicated to giving back to her community, Dorothy has been a child mentor through the Katy Independent School District, group blood drive coordinator, neighborhood and elementary volunteer, and is presently a volunteer for the Katy Prairie Conservancy and the Houston Arboretum. Being part of a book club, doing yoga, enjoying outdoor activities, the arts, movies, and socializing are some of her favorite pastimes. Most importantly she has three sons who she loves to spend time with whenever possible.

After moving from France in 2005, Dorothee started her real estate career as the Supervisor of the MLS at the Austin Board of Realtors, then moved towards Education Management by opening and running private preschools, and now back to her first passion, in Martina Nerrant Home Team for Energy Realty. Dorothee lives in Katy with her blended family of 7.
