A believer in the power of positive thinking, Sharyn knows that attitude has an impact – on other people, situations, and most importantly, outcomes. "I've learned along the way that when you have a good attitude, are focused on your goal, and work hard, then you will always succeed."
When Sharyn worked in pharmaceutical sales some years ago, she learned a phrase that she still lives by: "Prior Proper Planning Prevents Poor Performance." She is organized, detail-oriented, and a stickler about providing excellent customer service, and she thrives on the dynamic nature of the real estate industry. She stays abreast of fast-paced changes in neighborhoods, design and construction trends, and her clients' needs for housing. She keeps clients' needs at the forefront and always tries to be helpful.
"Every client is my most important client," says Sharyn Short. "My target clients are those who want to work with a professional who dedicates her time, energy, and expertise to help them buy, sell, or lease a home. Most of my business comes from word-of-mouth referrals from loyal clients - and that's marketing you can't buy."
Sharyn believes that community involvement is necessary for all communities to be great places to live and she stays actively involved in her own. She is a member and past president of the Memorial Forest Women's Club; a member and past member of the Memorial Forest Club Board; a past president and board member of the Memorial Forest Civic Club, Inc.; a member and volunteer at St. Martin's Episcopal Church; and a PTA member and volunteer at Frostwood Elementary, Memorial Middle, and Memorial High schools.
Sharyn is a native Houstonian and very familiar with many neighborhoods across Houston. She graduated from Cypress Creek High School and earned a BBA-marketing from the University of Texas. Her cherished leisure time is spent gardening, playing tennis, decorating, enjoying a movie night with her family, or reading the latest best-selling thriller.
Over the course of 15 years of helping develop and run successful businesses while working closely with business partners and on her own, Amanda has learned the value of commitment, perseverance and the entrepreneurial spirit.
Amanda started her career as a Semper Fit trainer for the U.S. Marine Corp in Jacksonville NC and then as Director of Fitness for Georgia Training Alliance in Atlanta, GA where she trained some of the top athletes in NFL and college football. While working in the professional sports arena where players are constantly moving and traveling for work, Amanda also developed a niche she would later realize was a genuine passion while helping some of her NFL clients search for the best homes and neighborhoods to get their families settled into the city she had grown to know so well.
After retiring from training in 2014, she moved to Houston and started a family. Over the next few years Amanda took her entrepreneurial spirit and love of helping others find their perfect home to the world of real estate, taking it a step further by becoming a REALTOR. Amanda relies on her natural ability to genuinely connect with her clients and listen to their needs while executing their vision, along with her knowledge and passion for the business to help guide them through what is often one of the most costly transactions their family will ever make. Her goal is to meet and exceed their expectations while making the home buying or selling process an enjoyable and memorable one.
Amanda is a single mom to two adorable sons. She is still an avid fitness fanatic who enjoys spending time anywhere outside with her boys, riding roller coasters at amusement parks, spending whole days at the beach and going on new adventures.
