Michelle, encouraged by her mom, became enamored with real estate at the tender age of 12. Many a Saturday morning was spent at open houses learning about architecture and design, and falling in love with spaces, colors and textures. Though those open house weekends were replaced with teenage distractions, Michelle would find out later that her passion for real estate could only stay dormant for so long.
During college, her love of film emerged, and Michelle spent a decade producing award-winning independent feature films. Her last film, "Gun Hill Road," premiered at Sundance Film Festival 2011 and was nominated for an Independent Spirit Award in 2012. As rewarding as the experience was, it was time for something new, and in a brilliant twist of fate, she was hired by Equity Office Properties (BX) in 2014.
229, former home of the New York Times, was purchased by Blackstone in 2011 as a development project, and was developed as Midtown's first multi-tenant TAMI (tech, ad, media & IT) building with such high-profile tenants as Yahoo!, Snap Chat, Collective Media and MongoDB, among others. Under Michelle's supervision, occupancy went from 36% to 97% occupancy, 300k square feet of tenant spaces were built out including Yahoo's Production Studio, and 30m of capital improvement projects were completed. In August of 2015, having been promoted to Property Manager, Michelle worked closely with the asset team to dispose of the property to Columbia Trust Properties.
With the sale behind her, Michelle decided to go back to her first love, residential real estate. She combines robust management, development and real estate investment experience with nuanced creativity and a great eye; and looks forward to leveraging these skills to help clients find the absolute best fit for them.
