Meet Jessie Singh- I was born in Dallas, Texas, and moved to India with my family when I was eight years old. I was immersed in the amazing Indian culture, got to experience the beautiful landscape, learned two new languages (Hindi and Punjabi) and was introduced to the world of Bollywood movies. After this diverse childhood, I returned to Texas where I attended the University of Texas at Arlington and earned a bachelor's degree in Biology. I began my adult career working in the medical field with Fortune 500 companies in sales and realized how much I enjoyed working with people. In 2012 I was offered the opportunity to relocate to Australia for a year. As I was returning to Texas on the sixteen-hour flight, I began to contemplate a new direction in my career. I wanted to focus more on personal interactions and my strong networking abilities in a field in which I could focus on what matters most – my customers. Having developed an interest in real estate during my travels, I chose to move to this exciting career in helping people sell their homes or find the perfect new ones.
How is this career going? Absolutely amazing! In 2016 I was awarded the Gold Achievement award and in 2017 I became a broker and started JSingh Homes. My success continues to grow thanks to my hard work, unique marketing strategy, negotiation skills and repeat referral business. All the while I've never lost sight of what's most important – putting my clients' needs first.
What's up with your logo? Actually, it's a heartwarming story. When I arrived at my very first home showing back in 2013, I found my soulmate Sydney. She was a brindle pit mix, however, I couldn't tell what color she was as her mange was so extreme. She had little to no hair, extremely underweight and had suffered the abuse and trauma of living on the streets for far too long. My husband and I brought her home and were able to get her looking like a healthy puppy in just a few short months. What started out as a foster for a neglected puppy turned into the greatest addition to our home and the inspiration for my future Brokerage. My husband and I have since then fostered and found "furever" homes for 40 plus dogs.
Anything else you would like to share? Yes! I'm the president of Parkwood Civic Club and take great pride in my neighborhood-Riverside Terrace. My husband and I love walking our dogs around Parkwood Park and riding our bikes along the bayou. Houston is AMAZING! Call me and I'll tell you all about this vibrant city.
