Dreaming of living in a house, but do not have the large down payment to purchase yet or not ready to settle in one place long term? Renting a home only has a minimum 12 month commitment. Landlords and property management companies can ask for different criteria to rent, but most ask for potential renters to make 3 times the cost of rent per month and have a credit score of a minimum of 600+. You will pay a small non-refundable fee for a credit check, rental history and background screening. You will be asked for copies of Drivers Licenses from all potential renters 18 and older and 2-3 months recent pay receipts.

If you do not have pay receipts, you may be asked for 3 months recent bank statements. Sometimes you may be asked to show copies of social security cards. If you own your own a business, you may be asked to show 1-2 years of tax returns.

It can seem tedious to show so much proof of who you are and how much money you make, but there are many people who try and do scam landlords. They learn hard lessons that costs them a lot of money when they do not adhere to the rules.

Living in a rental home can be vary satisfying. You can rent a home with a pool, have room to have BBQ's, a backyard for relaxing and for kids to play or grow garden. With a rental you are not responsible for the large cost of things that break down over time.
