Alma has been a Houston resident since 1979. She graduated from the University of Houston Central Campus with a BA in Psychology. Alma has been involved in numerous community activities, has served on the Heights Community Development Corporation Board since 1998 providing affordable housing for inner city residents, and the Heights Chamber of Commerce. Recognized by the National Trust for Historic Preservation as a member of the Historic Real Estate Program. Alma previously served as Chair of the Heights Association Restoration Committee and continues her committment to perservation with the appointment by the Mayor to the City Hall Perservation Committee. Alma enjoys dancing, kayaking, jogging, gardening, riding her Harley and long walks with her dog, Potter.
