Senior Citizens in West U were angry about the high membership fees for the new Colonial Park. Many of these seniors rely on the park's pool for their exercise. In response, West U City Council waived the fees for seniors and residents with disabilities. The City Council also voted to give all residents a 50% discount on family membership and walk-in fees for the first year. The Council said nothing about discounting for the individual or couple season passes. So now the only ones discriminated against are the West U residents who are not married and those who are either infertile or chose not to have children.
The fees are $5 walk-in, $125 individual season pass, $180 couples season pass, $300 family season pass.
