Metro's University Light Rail Route will Cause 168 Relocations of Businesses and Residences

Metro's University light rail route is planned to be 11.3 miles with 19 stations from the Hillcroft Tansit Center to the Eastwood transit Center.  This new line will cause 168 businesses and residences to relocate. Before this can happen, Metro needs to obtain $1.3 billion (hopefully in federal financing) and then go about acquiring 23 acres of land - much of it along Richmond. The properties that will be affected are 56 residential, 1 religions, 18 mixed-use, 14 governmental and 20 vacant properties. Specifically this affects the 9 busineses in the strip center at 3809 Southwest Freeway  feeder road, the Mount Vernon apartments, the 16 businesses between 2111 and 2115 Richmond, 8 businesses at 2045 Richmond, 6 busineses between 2205 and 2213 Richmond, 6 businesses between 2219 and 2227 Richmond.
